Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center Website
The Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center was established in 2021 through a $10.8 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, which has designated it as a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence. The Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center is focused on understanding the role of cell and tissue metabolism in disease, development, and repair through research involving advanced imaging, bioenergetics, and data science. This interdisciplinary research center is focused on supporting early-stage faculty research across multiple colleges on the Fayetteville campus, as well as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center currently directly supports four research projects, provides annual funding for innovative pilot projects, and supports recruitment of faculty with promising careers in metabolic research. These research projects are supported by an administrative core that organizes a variety of campus-wide scientific and career development activities, coordinates a formal mentorship program for early-stage investigators within the center, and provides proposal development support. The center provides access to state-of-the-art equipment and expertise in three research cores available to any researchers: the bioenergetics core, the imaging and spectroscopy core, and the data science core.
